Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving.
I was driving home and wondering where to go for our usual Friday date night and I remembered it was Thanksgiving yesterday. Due to consumerism, all I can remember is that TODAY IS BLACK FRIDAY (chants shopping shopping shopping….). So anyway, I realize it is better late than never to remember stuff and I thought I really should be doing some Thanksgiving to God.
I started playing Hillsongs Jr. Piano Lullabies Vol. 1 on Apple Music on my Apple Carplay few days ago as I felt it was good for baby to listen to music.
While being stuck in the bad traffic where people are either going home from work or heading out for their Black Friday shopping, I started praying and thanking God in the privacy of my car aloud so that baby can hear it too…
Dear God, thank you for giving a good life.
Thank you for giving me a job in the industry I enjoy so I won't dread going to work daily.
Thank you for giving me a good family with loving parents so that I know what growing up in a loving home is like.
Thank you for giving me younger siblings so that I learn how to be a sister and take care of people.
Thank you for giving me a good husband. Thank you for giving me a husband that adores and loves me. Thank you for giving me a husband that I know is going to be a great father. Thank you that in November 2012, when I prayed to you and ask for a good man in my life, instantly, you told me that you already place him in my life 2 years ago and I just didn't realize what I always wanted was right before me.
Thank you for giving us our baby Ferris. I thank you for every little movement I felt from my little unborn child because it means my child is happy. Thank you for giving Bernard and I this little surprise gift of life and the privilege of being parents. Thank you, for assuring us with every gynecology appointment that our firstborn has been perfectly form and very cute in our eyes.
Thank you for continuously loving, blessing and not forgetting me though I am guilty of forgetting to go church rather frequently.
Towards the end of my prayers, I found myself humming with the melody of the familiar song playing in my car, coincidentally, the title of the song is "God is Able". Indeed, our God is able.
Update: Baby Ferris is 23 weeks old today :)
