Baby moved! And I actually felt it!

Baby moved! And I actually felt it!

So yesterday, I felt my baby’s movement for the very first time and I was over the moon.

Thing is, I really haven’t gained much weight. I am almost 20 week pregnant now and I gained 200g since my very first gynae appointment.

I did lose about 1.5-2kg during the first trimester’s morning sickness hell period. I gained those weight back by the time I got to the second trimester and now after 12 days of feasting in Japan during our honeymoon, I only gained 200g! And boy, we ate non stop in Japan (I mean, how not to?)!

I mean, if I’m not pregnant, this is kind of great news. Like, who doesn’t want to remain slim? I joined this March Mummies chat group for pregnant mom with babies expected to be born in March 2017. Most of them gained 3-9 (!!)kg by now. Everyone including whose Expected Delivery Date (EDD) is after mine has started feeling baby movement in their belly. THEN WHY AM I STILL SO SLIM AND CANNOT FEEL ANY KICKS? IS MY BABY EVEN GROWING? This has been bugging be for weeks, especially when more and more March Mummies sharing that they've felt their baby's movement. I must admit I am also a bit more paranoid because I do know someone whose baby heartbeat stopped at 27th week for no known reason. I know, I know, *choy choy choy* touchwood, I got to be positive, but still, pregnant people tends to get pretty paranoid.

So yesterday I was lying on my bed while passing time before I head out for yoga. I happened to have my left hand on my lower left belly. I felt a twitch. Like just a split second. I was confused, not sure if that was baby or I was hungry or some gastro intestinal stuff. I let it go and went for my usual Hatha yoga.

During yoga, while doing the bridge pose, I had an unusual sensation at my lower belly. The sensation was like a little goldfish swam horizontally across a 3 inch length of my lower abdomen. Goldfish because there was this bubbling feeling while "swimming" across. I'm pretty convinced it must be baby! Finally it is my turn to feel my baby movement! I asked my March Mummies group and my friend KY and they said it is!!!! So happy!

Before I went to bed, I placed my hand on my belly while lying flat the way I did earlier in the evening again. This time, I felt a little "thud" like a gentle little knock on the door. That must be my little goldfish telling me that "Hey, I alive an growing here!".

And all the worries went away. Thank you, my little goldfish for the assurance! We are halfway there now at week 20!

Love you!
